The right of any person to any future payment under the provisions of this chapter shall not be transferable or assignable at law or in equity, and none of the moneys paid or payable or the rights existing under this chapter, shall be subject to execution, levy attachment, garnishment, or other legal process, or to the operation of any bankruptcy or insolvency law. Nothing in this chapter or RCW Chapter 41.24 shall be construed to deprive any firefighter, eligible to receive a pension hereunder, from receiving a pension under any other act to which he/she may become eligible by reason of services other than or in addition to his/her services as a firefighter under this chapter and RCW Chapter 41.24.
